PRESS RELEASE: Worksite Labs Joins the CommonTrust Network, Expanding Access to Trusted Health Data Across the U.S. for Global Travel

The partnership includes 15 cities and will enable users to digitally verify their health status ahead of international travel using the CommonPass app

LONG BEACH, California, June 15, 2021 — Worksite Labs and The Commons Project Foundation today announced that Worksite Labs is the latest member to join the CommonTrust Network, a global registry of trusted health data sources created to ensure that only verifiable lab results and vaccination records are presented for the purposes of international travel and commerce.

"The heart of the Worksite Labs mission is getting international and domestic travel moving again," said Gary Frazier, founder and CEO of Worksite Labs. "This partnership marries our national network of gold-standard COVID-19 laboratory services with The Commons Project Foundation’s efforts to make it easier for people to track, access and present required travel documents."

Launched by The Commons Project Foundation and the World Economic Forum, in collaboration with a broad, voluntary network of public and private stakeholders, the CommonTrust Network provides countries that have adopted specific entry requirements with a more reliable, trustworthy and efficient way to validate the COVID-19 health status of incoming travelers. Since its inception in January 2020, the nonprofit network has partnered with more than 450 trusted laboratory, vaccination and health record data sources, enabling border officials and airlines across the globe to confirm that the information they’ve received from a traveler is accurate and meets the local guidelines.

Formed as the COVID-19 pandemic revealed the existing U.S. laboratory landscape could not keep pace with testing demands, Worksite Labs provides 98-99% accurate NAAT RT-PCR testing at its CLIA-certified labs across the country with same-day high-complexity results. The company currently serves public, medical and commercial organizations, with clients including Hawaiian Airlines and multiple airport authorities such as San Francisco International and Austin-Bergstrom International. In the last year, Worksite Labs has built over 15 new testing sites to improve quality and access to healthcare diagnostics and allow businesses and individuals to move forward with certainty.

As part of the new partnership, individuals who receive a COVID-19 test at one of the 15 connected Worksite Labs locations can easily pull their results into the CommonPass app, one of the trusted verification platforms included in the CommonTrust Network, and digitally verify their health status with their destination ahead of arrival. With CommonPass, travelers’ COVID-19 health status information can be surfaced at the point of entry without revealing any other underlying personal health information. In some cases, passengers using the CommonPass app are also able to fast track their way through document checkpoints upon arrival to their destination.

“The Commons Project Foundation welcomes Worksite Labs to the CommonTrust Network,” said Paul Meyer, CEO, The Commons Project Foundation. “The shared mission of CommonTrust Network members is to empower individuals with digital access to their health information so they can improve their health, inform their care and demonstrate their health status when they travel, all while protecting their data privacy. The addition of Worksite Labs to the network enables us to expand this public service to more individuals in the U.S.”

The connected lab cities include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, San Jose, Las Vegas, Long Beach, Sacramento, Phoenix, Austin, New York City, Atlanta and Miami.
